How it works
Five verbs. One very long night.
Every bill goes through the same loop. Get better at each step and the money gets easier to spend.
- Step
Print
- Step
Cut
Trim the sheet into single notes on the mat. Neat edges draw fewer looks.
- Step
Dry
Hang them on the rack and wait. Wet ink is the fastest way to get caught.
- Step
Bundle
Strap them into stacks, count the night and plan where they go.
- Step
Spend
Take one to the till and hope the clerk is having a slow night.
Then do it again, bigger
- Real change
- Better paper and ink
- Bigger machines
- More heat
The clerk check
Ten seconds at the till
Every bill you make ends up here. The clerk looks it over, one meter fills, and your night goes one way or the other. Try it.

The clerk is waiting.
A toy version of the in-game check. In the game, the shop, its heat and the time of night all weigh in too.
Features
Small room. Big ambitions.
From one inkjet and a shoebox of notes to an operation with a lot of moving parts.
Two ladders to climb
Production and distribution take turns. A bigger place lets you print more, and more bills need bigger buyers.

Losing never wipes your save
Getting caught costs what you carried, some reputation and a bit of time. Never your layout, your machines or your save.
The specimen book
Every note you make earns a page, from your first smudged five to the run you are proud of.
Did it by hand? Hand it off.
Once you have done a chore yourself, you can automate it and spend your nights on the risky parts.
Build your print room
Place the furniture, plan the flow from printer to rack to door, and keep a hiding spot for when someone knocks.
Co-op · 1–4 players
One prints. One spends.
Crisp Bills works solo, and it gets louder with friends. Online co-op for up to four players through Steam is planned for Early Access.
Roles sort themselves out: someone babysits the printer, someone does the shop run, someone keeps watch at the window. And when a friend gets picked up, a rescue is on the roadmap.
Co-op is in development. Details may change before launch.
Screens
Straight from the engine
Captures and renders from the current build, from the bedroom to the corner store. Work in progress, so things will keep changing.
Early Access
Early Access, honestly
Crisp Bills is planned to launch in Early Access on Steam. Here is what we are building for that first version, and what we would like to add after it.
Planned for launch
10Our target for day one.
- Three places to print from: the bedroom, a house and a garage
- Two ways to sell: corner shops, then fences with repeat orders
- Paper, ink, notes and serials, all weighed by the clerk check
- Heat, arrests, raids on one property and a bail-out
- Furniture placement and hiding spots
- Automation for the chores you have done by hand
- A small town to walk around
- Act one of the story
- Online co-op for 1–4 players with host saves and autosave backups
- The specimen book and Steam achievements
On the roadmap
07Ideas we want to build. Not promises.
- Bigger places: a flat, a shop front, a warehouse
- Crews, gangs and cartel contracts
- Laundering and bigger deals
- More ways for a bill to pass, or not
- Acts two and three
- A bigger town, with driving
- A breakout mission for when a friend gets caught
Plans change with playtests and your feedback. Release date and price are not announced yet. Like many Early Access games, the price may go up at 1.0.
FAQ
Questions at the counter
What platforms is Crisp Bills coming to?
Windows at launch, on Steam. We are testing Linux and Steam Deck and will only list them once they work.
Can I play with friends?
Yes, that is the plan. Online co-op for 1 to 4 players through Steam is planned for Early Access. You can also play the whole game solo.
Is this about real counterfeiting?
No. Crisp Bills is a cartoon sim with a made-up currency in a made-up town. Printing is an abstract craft of paper grades and ink tiers, not a how-to. All currencies, places, people and organisations are fictional.
Will it run on Steam Deck?
Not confirmed yet. We are testing it and will only say it works once it does.
When does it come out?
The release date has not been announced. Wishlist on Steam and you will get a note when it launches.
How much will it cost?
The price has not been announced. It will be a one-time purchase with no microtransactions.

Coming to Steam
Keep the printer warm
A wishlist is the biggest help an indie game can get. It also means Steam tells you the moment we launch.
